Vangjush Vellahu is a visual artist who works primarily with video and travel-based research to explore what politics does to space, and what space does to people. Through moving image, interviews, mapping, and archival material, he traces how power becomes embedded in landscapes, memory, and everyday life. His work engages with political fragmentation, collective memory, and experiences of movement and belonging across spaces shaped by conflict, political change, and uncertainty.
His work has been presented internationally at Hamburger Bahnhof, Berlin; Times Art Center, Berlin; Manifesta 14 Biennial, Prishtina; Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Rijeka; National Gallery of Arts, Tirana; Trade Fair Palace – National Gallery, Prague; Museu d’Història de Catalunya, Barcelona; Museum of Contemporary Art, Acri; and ΕΜΣΤ | National Museum of Contemporary Art, Athens, where his work is also held in the collection.
He has taken part in international residency programmes including Art Omi, Ghent, New York; ZK/U – Zentrum für Kunst und Urbanistik, Berlin; Vila 31 × Art Explora, Tirana; Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Rijeka; Arthur Boskamp Stiftung, Hohenlockstedt; and Dilijan Arts Observatory, Armenia.
Born in Pogradec, Albania, in 1987, he lives and works between Berlin and Tirana.
