Vangjush Vellahu is a visual artist working primarily with video, travel-based research, mapping, interviews, and archival material. His work follows how political borders, contested histories, and systems of recognition shape movement, landscape, memory, and everyday life. Across long-term projects, he works through journeys, encounters, and fragmented forms to examine how people inhabit places marked by conflict, political change, and uncertain belonging.
His work has been presented internationally at Hamburger Bahnhof, Berlin; Times Art Center, Berlin; Manifesta 14 Biennial, Prishtina; Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Rijeka; National Gallery of Arts, Tirana; Trade Fair Palace – National Gallery, Prague; Museu d’Història de Catalunya, Barcelona; Museum of Contemporary Art, Acri; and EMST | National Museum of Contemporary Art, Athens. His work is also held in the collection of EMST.
He has taken part in international residency programmes including Art Omi, Ghent, New York; ZK/U – Zentrum für Kunst und Urbanistik, Berlin; Vila 31 × Art Explora, Tirana; Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Rijeka; Arthur Boskamp Stiftung, Hohenlockstedt; and Dilijan Arts Observatory, Armenia.
Born in Pogradec, Albania, in 1987, he lives and works between Berlin and Tirana.
