Produced for “ANGST, KEINE ANGST / FEAR, NO FEAR”,
an exhibition at Times Art Center Berlin 2021.
In this collaborative video work by Vangjush Vellahu and Antje Majewski, Huang Xiaopeng talks about the
rapidly changing cities and the ecological problems arising from modern “development,” connected to the adaptation
of Western ideologies in China.
What does it mean to become an artist while living in a society that demands much more than finding a path in art, where institutions are directed by the government, and independence is difficult to pursue?
But most of all this work allows us to encounter the main curator of the show and a great artist. In this video we recognize his enthusiasm for helping younger artists, to communicate and be in dialogue and build something
together even under difficult circumstances, which was at the source of this exhibition.
